Change Audacity Interface

In the window Audacity Preferences; Select the panel Interface and change the settings corresponding the picture below.

Remark regarding the frame ‘Minimum of dB mode display range’: Though I didn’t see any difference at the Audio Meters, it does not harm to set it to -96 dB (PCM range of 16-bit samples).

If you’re ready making the changes click OK, after which a message appears like the picture below. You only see this message when the location of the temporary directory has been changed.

For certain changes to be effective you need to close Audacity and start it again. Preferences are now effective. You can now start with your (first) recording .
